Something has changed in the Chiang Mai laundry market over the past few years. A growing number of services operate entirely behind a messaging app. No shop front, no address, no phone number, in fact no human contact and no way to know where your clothes actually go.
For a tourist sending off their only clean shirt before a flight, or an expat handing over a bag of work clothes every week, that’s worth thinking about.
You should be able to visit your laundry
Em’s Laundry has two physical locations in Chiang Mai. At our Chiang Klan location you can walk in, meet the team, see how we work, and ask any question you like. Our addresses are on our website, on Google Maps, and easy to find. We have nothing to hide because there is nothing to hide.
This matters more than it might seem. A physical shop means accountability. It means the people cleaning your clothes are real, located, and reachable — not just a WhatsApp contact that could disappear tomorrow.
24 cameras. Every stage recorded.
Both of our locations have cameras. At Chang Klan our main location we have 24 cameras monitoring the entire laundry process — from the moment your clothes arrive to the moment they leave. Check-in, sorting, washing, drying, folding, bagging, return. Every stage is on record.
If there is ever a question about a missing item, we can show you exactly what happened. That’s not something a faceless delivery-only service can offer.
831 Google reviews across two locations
Reviews are hard to fake at scale. Em’s has 831 Google reviews built over more than 20 years of serving Chiang Mai. You can read them, check the responses, and make up your own mind. That kind of track record only comes from years of consistent, accountable service.
We use WhatsApp, LINE, email too — but we’re not hiding behind them
We’re happy to take bookings by WhatsApp, LINE, phone, or email. Convenience matters and we understand that. But our WhatsApp number leads to a real shop with a real address and real people. You can message us, call us, or walk in. Whatever suits you.
For tourists and long-term residents alike
Whether you’re in Chiang Mai for a week or you’ve lived here for years, you deserve to know where your clothes are going. Em’s has been the trusted choice for both visitors and the expat community for over two decades — precisely because we operate openly and stand behind our work.
